The Body Venture exhibit is a traveling, interactive, in-school program run by the Kansas Department of Education (KSDE) that educates students (K-5th grade) on healthy eating and physical activity by exploring the journey of food through the human body at large-scale, inflatable stations. Students receive food cards based on the MyPlate system and follow them through 11 stations, learning about organs like the brain, stomach, intestines, heart, lungs, and bones, as well as the role of skin and the spread of germs. The goal is for children to understand the importance of choosing nutritious foods and staying active to keep their bodies healthy and functioning properly.
Big thank you to: our administration for proving this opportunity for our students, middle school football coaches and players for assisting with set-up, and our high school students who volunteered their time today to run these stations. We hope the kids had fun and took away some tips to help keep them Cyclone Strong!Riverside elementary was honored to host the Body Venture exhibit today!
