Information for RHS Girl’s Sub state game at Valley Heights High School, 2274 6th Rd, Blue Rapids, KS: Friday, March 5th, at 5:30 pm
Tickets must be purchased ahead of Friday’s game. Each school has only 175 tickets and there will be NO tickets sold at the building door at Valley Heights. They may be purchased electronically on your phone up until the time of the game until all tickets are sold. All tickets are electronic. You will receive the ticket on your phone and will have to validate it with the gate person at Valley Heights. Please do not take the chance of driving the distance and not being able to attend. Pre-Purchase your ticket before you leave. Fans will not be allowed inside the building until 30 minutes before the game. Please exit immediately after the game to allow preparation for the following game.

Any tickets not sold by Thursday morning will be opened up to the general public to purchase by going to www.gofan.co and searching for Valley Heights High School. Girls win their first round of sub-state, 46-40 over ACCHS. Congratulations ladies!!


Riverside girls up 17-13 at half at ACCHS. First round of sub-state.

Riverside boys win 60-27 in first round of sub-state tonight. They will play Thursday in the semifinals against Maur Hill at Valley Heights High School. Congratulations!!

The Riverside High School Graphic Design students participated in the 2021 Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art Regional High School Art Exhibition. This year the show included over 75 entries from 16 different schools. After a panel jury selection First, Second, and Third Place, plus Honorable Mentions were awarded in each of the nine categories.
In the Alternative category for digital art and computer graphics ninth grader Carter Phillippe was awarded 3rd place, twelfth grader Allison Schultz 2nd place, and eleventh grader Eric Olson 1st place. Student artwork is on display at the Museum for the next month. Kaycee Davis is the instructor of the Riverside High School Graphic Design classes.

Riverside High School Sub-state basketball information (Monday and Tuesday, March 1st and 2nd):
For both games:
Ticket prices will be $7.00 per seat with no student pricing. (per KSHSAA) (@RHS Children age 0-5 do not need to purchase a ticket and are permitted to sit with their parents.)
***Only KSHSAA approved passes will be accepted
All games from here on are KSHSAA hosted games and there are no league passes, parent passes, student passes, board passes, retired person passes, etc. for these games. Tickets are $7.00 for each of sub-state tournament games. If we are fortunate enough to host again, tickets will be $9.00 the following week for the state tournament.

Conner Hayes gets a 2nd period pin to advance to the sub-state semifinals.


RMS boys basketball traveled to Perry-Lecompton on Thursday February 18th. The 8A played a tough Kaws team. They handled the full court press well, but struggled to score in their half-court offense, losing 50-2. Scoring the only basket for the Cyclones was Rylan Smith. The 7A team struggled finishing around the rim, but still managed a 10 point victory over the Kaws. Everyone scored for the Cyclones. Beckam Griffin 12, Ty Harrington and Gunner Kiefer 5, Chase Hewins and Brody Huff 4, Mason Hayes 2 and Maddox Meers 1. In the combined B action the Cyclones finished the night with another win. Leading the Cyclones was Brody Huff with 9, Darrion Hernandez 4, Chase Hewins 3, Landen Conard, Rylan Smith, Josh King, Ty Harrington and Beckam Griffin all chipped in 2.

The RMS Scholars Bowl Meet tomorrow, February 19th at Holton will begin at 4:00 p.m. There will be no spectators this year at the meet because of COVID. Students will be given a sack lunch with bottled water. The bus will leave at 2:15 and return around 8:00, dropping off students at Wathena and Elwood.

It’s Kids Heart Challenge time for K-4 students! We are raising money for the American Heart Association! Packets and money due March 5th. Please contact Coach Winder with any questions.
