At the March Board of Education meeting, we recognized several groups of students for their outstanding accomplishments in winter sports activities.
First, the 2A State Runner-up girls' basketball team was recognized. They had a fantastic season, finishing with a 23-3 record. They represented Riverside High School at the 2A State Championship tournament in Dodge City in early March! Great job, Lady Cyclones!
Next, we recognized the basketball players who received Big 7 All-League Honors. Halle Studer, Taylor Weishaar, and Percy Duncan were recognized with first-team all-league honors. Niahla Duncan was recognized for honorable mention.
Finally, we recognized the students who were named First Team Academic All-State by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association. These students excel in the classroom and on the mat.
Congratulations to all of our student-athletes and coaches who participated in winter sports!

The Riverside Middle School Wrestling team was recognized for winning the Big 7 League Wrestling title at the December Board of Education Meeting. The following boys won their weight class: Shane Harless-Banks, Kyson Murphy, Brendyn Deming, Gavin Schoenfelder, and Noah Wooley. Many others placed as we came home with a total of 15 medals. Congratulations to the 21 students who participated in wrestling this year and their coaches, Dave Keller and Connor Hayes!

At the January Board of Education meeting Mr. Anthony Nelson and Mr. Jonathan Hobbs were recognized with the Cyclone Pride Award. Mr. Nelson and Mr. Hobbs have been instrumental in building strong programs in the music department at Riverside. In December, the concert performances by the Middle and High School Band and Choir were outstanding! Currently, festival and contest season is in full swing. Our band and choir students and their teachers have been working hard in preparation for upcoming events! Good luck to all of our performers in the weeks ahead, and thank you to Mr. Nelson and Mr. Hobbs for all they do for our students!

Teaching and classified positions are open, and we are actively seeking applicants! Please call or email with any questions.
Are you interested in a career in Education but don't have the appropriate teaching license? Feel free to reach out, and we will help you explore your options. Colleges across the state have alternative teaching licensure programs, and there might be one that is right for you!
